One of the Grooms of the private chambers of Prince William which is Lieutenant Commander Rob Dixon is to leave his post after four years of serving.

“I have had the most incredible opportunity to serve in a role that not only demanded from me but also grew and taught me as well as to make a difference alongside a talented and passionate team,” Dixon posted on Linkedin last Friday.

The new revelation by Daily Mail is that Dixon will be relinquishing his duty as an equerry to get back into the naval service that has been his profession for 24 years. Equerries are personal aides de camp to senior royals for ceremonial events, and their contracts are for typically three years.

“Time to replace a top hat and tails with ‘daily working rig’ once again, and it’s the right move,” Dixon added.

As part of his post, Dixon shared some of the royals that he worked with, which include the funeral of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, Platinum Jubilee, and King Charles’ coronation, in which he participated in a small way.

Squadron Leader Mike Reynolds from the Royal Air Force is to take on the role of equerry for Prince William.

He was also questioned on the Prince of Wales title and if he loved the liberty and accountability that accompany it.

“It’s a tricky one. Do I prefer talking to my team members? No,” he said.

The young prince has been growing a beard for several months now, and it seems to incite controversy even among people from close proximity – including his daughter, Charlotte.

Well, the first time round Charlotte wasn’t very happy about it. I received a lot of tears so I had to shave it off. And then I grew it back. Worried, she said ‘I thought, hang on a second, and I convinced her it was going to be okay.”
