The celebrity mother said she may not be great at being a mother but she considers motherhood to be the most important thing in her life.
She recently went on, Good Morning America where she talked about her new movie, Maria. In her interview with Michael Strahan, she said in real life, singing is important for Maria Calles – who is an opera singer portrayed by Eva, but for her – it is very important to be a mother.
“It is my happiness,” the Hollywood actress said to Strahan. “You can take everything else away from me. Nothing else matters.”
She and ex-husband Brad Pitt share six kids: Maddox, 23, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and Knox and Kline, twins, aged 16.
Maria, she revealed that her two eldest children have done assistant directing on the show and that they enjoyed the experience stating it was an amazing show but none of them want to be in front of the camera anymore “They’re quite private.” Shiloh’s about as closed-mouthed as they come,’ she said. “These ones were not born with privacy were they?” So I’d like for them to have that as they develop.”
In a cover story for The Hollywood Reporter conducted in promotion of the Pablo Larraín biopic about the singer, the Eternals actress said, ‘I think it was good for them.
Maria was the first project Jolie did in a while because she had to be home more with my kids, but now that they are older and more independent, she said felt like she was less needed, so she started going away for periods of time to work.
“And they are at the age that they can accompany me to work.” Summer has come and that means that it’s a new season in our lives. I’m very excited for them to be coming into their own more and more every day,” she added.
So I’m somebody who has endeavoured to have a better understanding of foreign policy. I can’t get my head round what occurs in our world, why a lot of things are as they are.
I think I am groping to know how I can effectively lead my children in their path that they will be good individuals. But for some reason I don’t often get the feeling that I am doing something significant. So when you say, ‘You use your voice,’ I feel like to me, there are so many that I cannot do and so many that I cannot say at this time.”
