Fox News contributor Raymond Arroyo hasn’t been seen on Fox News since he caused controversy last month when he said that Black voters would vote for Trump for president because “they love sneakers.”

A Fox News contributor since 2017, Arroyo is most familiar to the Fox News audience as a frequent guest on Laura Ingraham’s prime-time show. He has done the seen and the unseen, the Friday follies and has been a fill in host for The Ingraham Angle.

While he appeared almost daily on Ingrahahm’s program, this frequency stopped overnight in late February over his on-air statement that Trump’s new sneakers would get him the black vote, which not only went viral on social media but sparked outrage.

During the Feb. 18 episode of Fox News’ The Big Weekend Show, Arroyo raved about the former president showing off his new MAGA products with Sneaker Con, including gold ‘Never Surrender’ high-tops for $399. Drawing heavily on race, bigots tried to convince voters that they were switching to the GOP because of the enjoyment of Trump’s expensive gold shoes.

“This is partnering with Black America because they love sneakers!” Arroyo exclaimed. “They’re into sneakers… this is a big deal, certainly in the inner city. So when you have Trump coming out with his sneaker line they are like, ‘wait a minute this is cool.’

The segment remained relatively unknown until another portion of Arroyo’s comments surfaced on X days later, and Arroyo was subsequently roasted by famous Black opinion writers and talk show hosts.

What kind of message does the conservative want Blacks to receive when they think a pair of shiny sneakers will change the voter’s mind? As Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s James E. Causey pointed out, this shows how disconnected conservatives remain from the Black community.

Before those viral comments, Arroyo had been on the network 29 times this year alone, and a large chunk of them were on Ingraham’s show. While the fact that Arroyo appears has 22 segments on the Ingraham Angle, A week has seen him on the primetime show four times Arroyo also co-hosted Outnumbered twice as a member of the midday roundtable.

However, this being the new world we live in, after Lahren presenting the ‘Seen and Unseen’ segment on the 22nd of February on the show of Ingrahm, he has disappeared from Fox News.

It seems that Fox News viewers have realized Arroyo is still missing from their screen. Recently, a few have flooded Twitter and Fox News asking Arroyo and Ingraham where he is, and he has not been on the network lately. “Did you quit working at Fox?” is how one X user asked during the week. Arroyo did not reply.

The network has not limited relied in Arroyo as his friend Ingraham’s on-air scapegoat and occasional substitute host. He also teamed with Ingraham to host the television talk show Laura & Raymond on the Fox Nation streaming service.

(That programme seems to have ceased production in 2022.) Also, he has hosted and created special programs for Fox Nation, including those shot in his hometown of New Orleans and interviewing celebrities about their Catholic faith.
