Matthew McConaughey tequila and his wife Camila Alves McConaughey are reprising his character from How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days to promote the couple’s organic tequila brand, Pantalones.

In the ad, which sees the Oscar-winning actor without pants, the couple makes a spoof of the poster for the 2003 romantic comedy The depicting Camila McConaughey in a yellow silk dress to match her Hollywood counterpart Kate Hudson.

Pantalones also launched 10 house cocktails corresponding to the movie, namely Love Fern Margarita, Benny Boo Boo, You’re So Vain and Yellow Dress.

The latest addition to the “official tequila of” campaign for the McConaughey’s tequila brand is in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days style.

The ad gave it the moniker of the official tequila of ‘mowing your lawn.” They have previously created ads featuring no pants pickleball, grilling and pool and other commercials for Pantalones.

The couple came to market the brand in the fall of 2023 with Blanco, Reposado and Añejo. The line of tequila is “cocktail to have fun, do good and that life is not so serious,” says a press release. It just completed it first year of operation.

In the brand’s first year on the market, the Anejo tequila was recentlyWinning a double gold medal at thee San Francisco World Spirits Competition is awarded when every single judge, from all the different panels, voted it the best in its class. Their Blanco type of tequila got a gold medal, the Reposado got a bronze one.

The brand had said in a statement earlier this year that 95% of their 2024 output will be done while wearing no pants.
